During the pre-school years it is essential that a holistic, integrated approach is adopted where play-based learning takes centre stage. Emergent Literacy and Numeracy skills are nurtured and developed both in the classroom and on the playground with a strong emphasis on building language and listening skills.
Our Life Skills programme aims to develop our girls’ social and emotional well-being. We support various charities throughout the year and girls are encouraged to look beyond themselves as they seek to share with those less fortunate.
Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills are fostered throughout the day as these are central to building confident, resilient and happy children. The joy of music, movement, dance and drama classes provide wonderful opportunities for creative expression and release.
A wide variety of extra-curricular activities are on offer and include: Ballet, Pottery, Music Play, Karate, Teddy Tennis.
Teacher-facilitated interest clubs include: Green Beans, Brain Waves, Finger Fun, Games Galore, Sing-a-long, Mini-Gym.
Special days are celebrated throughout the year such as ‘Tea for Two’, ‘Drumming with Dad’, ‘Someone Special Day’ and ‘Spring Day’. Coffee Mornings and Parent Information Evenings cover topics of interest and provide opportunities for parents to meet, discuss and share experiences. Regular educational outings, visiting puppeteers, speakers and story tellers all enhance our educational programme.
